I’m Cool With Jaylen Brown Doing Dangerous Stuff Like Skydiving if the Content is This Funny

If you didn’t hear, Jaylen Brown went skydiving in Egypt:
A lot of Sixers fans were concerned about this. They pointed to the Sixers’ cursed recent history, riddled with mysterious health issues and poorly timed injuries and general freak accidents that only seem to happen to this team and those who join it:

Don’t get me wrong: I understand the concern. It would be an extremely Sixers thing to happen if a recently signed star player jumped directly onto a pyramid from 30,000 feet with a faulty parachute and exploded into wet dust on impact. Not even sure that’d be the craziest thing to happen in Process history, either. It’s definitely not an automatic number one. Is a tragedy while skydiving more or less likely than a first overall pick forgetting how to shoot a basketball, or having a career ended by a mysterious sesame allergy? I’ve at least heard of skydiving accidents. The other two I had never, ever heard of before they happened. But I digress…
The point I’d really like to make is this: I do not agree with Sixers fans saying Jaylen should never do something this dangerous again. I feel the opposite. If Jaylen wants to do more risky stuff, I support him, under one condition: the content that comes from it needs to be as funny as this skydiving video. This shit made me laugh extremely hard. I loved it.
Here are a few parts that really stood out the moment I saw/noticed them:
0:01 – Jaylen doing little punches on his way to the plane.
0:06 – Jaylen unsuccessfully trying to cry on camera and then saying “I’m emotional.”
0:18 – Jaylen starts barking. Then he keeps on barking for a while.
0:32 – Jaylen’s wispy little hairs on his head flopping in the wind:
0:34 – Jaylen is playing rock paper scissors with another skydiver instead of focusing on skydiving/the Egyptian pyramids he is falling toward/the natural splendor of the world from this new angle. He came all the way to Egypt to do this. This is supposedly his biggest fear, and he’s traveled this great distance to overcome it. And he’s doing it. He finally did. This is it. And instead of relishing these fleeting moments, he’s playing rock paper scissors to seem nonchalant for the camera.
0:51 – Jaylen’s hair again. Cottage-cheese-looking:
1:00 – This is where I noticed the song playing is about pyramids. So awesome.
1:17 – Jaylen does a performative post-sky dive prayer on camera with all his seatbelt-looking stuff still on.
Truly excellent stuff. Jaylen, I’m cool with whatever you wanna do next. Climb mountains. Base jump. Lion fighting stuff with a chair like circus guys used to do. Something with sharks. Think each of these could be enjoyable for you, and would make for some funny videos for all of us. You have my blessing. Godspeed.
