How Will the Snobs Transport Their Diner En Blanc Equipment if Wagons are (Allegedly) Banned?
One of our guys came across this Facebook post from Diner En Blanc Philadelphia. It was then deleted, very mysteriously!
But it said that wagons and hard coolers won’t be allowed at DEB 2026:

There was also this post, saying that an email went out to DEB participants:

We’ll have to “effort” more on this. We will try to confirm if Le Diner En Blanc will allow Le Douchebags to bring wagons this year or not.
If you have no idea what this is about, Diner En Blanc is an annual pop-up picnic for the highborn among us. It’s an event where people dress up in fancy white clothes and go to some random spot in the city to eat fancy food and act like they’re some high-culture Euros. It’s a French thing and has spun off into gatherings across many American cities. Pagan got kicked out a few years ago.
But the funny thing is that DEB doesn’t actually provide anything. You get all dressed up and wait for a text message or an email, some kind of communication, and it says, presumably, “we’re going to be in this location tonight.” Then you carry your food, drinks, table, and chairs to the spot. According to the FAQ, you must bring:
“A square folding-table and two white chairs; a white picnic basket and/or bag including a gourmet meal for two, a white tablecloth and cloth-napkins, cutlery, dishware, and glassware; and a garbage bag. Since this is a sustainable event, guests are not permitted to bring one-time or disposable cups and plates. Please note that handy checklists will be available to all guests.”
The dudes usually end up lugging this shit around. Some of them look like they’re taking their family to the beach. I’ve seen guys in Sea Isle with fewer items in their wagon than these DEB-goers.
Conspiracy theory: Maybe it’s not about space or clunkiness at all. Maybe wagons are simply undesirable, and for the peasants. I wouldn’t be surprised if the DEB crowd thinks they’re too good for wagons. Putting a gourmet meal and white chairs inside a wagon is an affront to all that is haughty and French. Only the plebes walk around with wagons. The truly highfalutin among us bring our collapsible dolly and fold it nicely under the table.
The deleted messaged says anything “with four wheels” is banned from the event, but I know what I’m showing up in:

This is a developing news story.
