Stefon Diggs is a Commie

According to Nicki Jhabvala at The Athletic, Diggs inked a one-year, $12 million deal, which makes for a pretty good signing by the Commies. Diggs is 32 years old now and going into his 11th NFL season, but the veteran receiver put up some solid numbers in 2025-26: 85 receptions (ranked 12th) and 1,013 receiving yards (ranked 16th), which is better than his 4 receiving touchdowns (tied for 64th) would have you guess — and all of this just a year removed from tearing his ACL eight games into his Texans tenure.

The Commanders have been looking for a WR2 behind Terry McLaurin for a while now, and could’ve done a lot worse than bringing in Diggs as a new target for Jayden Daniels. He’s a proven playmaker, he can play inside and outside, and he just averaged a career-best 2.77 yards per route run and 4.2 yards after the catch last season, in which he helped another young quarterback make a run to the Super Bowl.

Diggs is also from the D.C. area, which is mildly interesting. He went to the University of Maryland. A lot of people are making this point online. Just thought I’d mention it.

Most importantly, from an Eagles perspective, I don’t give a rat’s ass about this. The Birds’ defense allowed the lowest completion percentage in the NFL last year (56.8%, ranked 1st). Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, and Riq Woolen fear no man.

And lastly, think it’s worth mentioning that Stefon Diggs has been dealing with a lot of legal stuff over the last couple years.

Diggs was also facing charges of felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges stemming from an alleged dispute with his former live-in chef in December. Diggs, who denied the allegations, was acquitted of all charges after a two-day trial in a Massachusetts district court in May. The NFL later determined there was insufficient evidence of a violation of its personal conduct policy, ensuring he wouldn’t face a fine or future suspension related to the allegations.

Diggs is also a party to two other civil lawsuits that are pending.

In November, Diggs sued Christopher Blake Griffith for defamation after Griffith publicly alleged that Diggs drugged and sexually assaulted him in 2023. Griffith quickly filed a countersuit, claiming Diggs sexually assaulted him and that Diggs’ brother Darez, among others, later attacked him. Stefon and Darez have denied all allegations. Griffith settled his case with Darez Diggs, but his legal fight with Stefon Diggs is ongoing.

Then in February, a man who says he was a “concierge and consultant” to Diggs sued the receiver for defamation and for acting in concert with his brothers and friends to intimidate and assault him. In a complaint filed in Miami circuit court, Nigel King alleged Diggs falsely accused him of stealing Diggs’ Ferrari in 2024, then later had his friends attack King. Diggs has denied those allegations as well.
