The Wing Bowl Documentary Made it to Apple TV, Prime Video, and YouTube

After debuting at the Calgary Underground Film Festival, the Wing Bowl documentary has finally made it to streamers. From the official press release:
No One Died: The Wing Bowl Story, the documentary chronicling the outrageous history and enduring cultural legacy of Philadelphia’s legendary Wing Bowl, is now available to stream on Amazon, Apple and YouTube.
For more than two decades, Wing Bowl transformed a Philadelphia morning into an anything-goes spectacle, drawing competitive eaters, outrageous personalities, elaborate costumes, devoted fans, and thousands of pounds of chicken wings. No One Died: The Wing Bowl Story revisits the phenomenon through the people who lived it, capturing the humor, chaos, rivalries, unforgettable characters, and uniquely Philadelphia spirit that made Wing Bowl unlike anything else.
More than a documentary about a food competition, No One Died: The Wing Bowl Story explores why Wing Bowl became such a powerful part of Philadelphia sports and pop culture—and why its legacy continues to resonate long after the final wing was eaten.
“Wing Bowl was never just about how many wings somebody could eat,” said Writer/Director Pat Taggart “It was about Philadelphia and this is our love letter to where we were born and raised. It was about the blue-collar characters, the fans, the absurdity, and the sense that, for one morning, absolutely anything could happen. This film is our chance to preserve that story and let audiences experience it all over again.”
The masterfully narrated documentary by legendary radio host Angelo Cataldi, features interviews with competitors, organizers, broadcasters and former Philadelphia Eagles, Jason Kelce & Jon Dorenbos. Archival footage of the many celebrities in attendance, coupled with jaw dropping photos, bring this one-of-a-kind spectacle back to life.
Whether audiences remember Wing Bowl firsthand or are discovering it for the first time, No One Died: The Wing Bowl Story offers a front-row seat to one of Philadelphia’s most unforgettable traditions.

Starting it off with Jason Kelce is pretty sick. Also very cool to see how much footage they’re using from actual Wing Bowls. Wing Bowl ruled. I never went to one and this trailer is making me wonder why I didn’t. Big mistake. I also just read Kinker’s blog from when this documentary was first announced back in 2024 and found this rundown of his sole Wing Bowl experience:
“I only went to Wing Bowl once, but came home with many stories to tell. I saw Coolio perform at a strip club at 9 in the morning and got in a limousine with some Russian guy named Vladimir, which was after a former 94 WIP executive fell asleep in the VIP booth at a different strip club. Good times!“
Incredible. I truly missed out. Can’t wait to vicariously experience Wing Bowl through this documentary.
