I Can’t Believe the Commies Called a Shovel Pass to John Bates with the Game on the Line

Couple of things here:

• John Bates is a blocking tight end. The guy had 16 targets last season and caught two passes in this game for 13 yards. When you think about who you want to go to with the game on the line, it’s not John Bates.
• Jayden Daniels was super slippery in the 2nd half. There were so many snaps where he was doing things with his feet, extending plays, just being annoyingly good in general. Surely you’d want to give him some kind of option here. Let him roll out, give him a passing choice, and if it’s not there, take it himself. You’d think Washington would have played to a strength with the game on the line.
• Moro Ojomo is so quick to detach and spin off his guy. He actually comes across the line after Jalen Carter goes down to blow up the play entirely.
• Carter gets a bit of both Bates and Sam Cosmi as he gets shoved to the ground. Not sure if it messes up the timing at all, but Cosmi rounds the corner and ends up not putting a body on anybody. He moves up to the goal line and targets Marcus Epps.
• Jihaad Campbell skirts Chris Paul and probably makes this play if Ojomo isn’t already there.
• Jordan Davis wasn’t even in the game. It was a 4-2-5 nickel look with Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt joining Ojomo and Carter.

Commie fans will probably be annoyed by this. That’s unfortunate for them.
