Commanders and Giants Offer Fascinatingly Different Reactions to Their QBs Going Down Injured

Jayden Daniels and Jaxson Dart both went down with Week 2injuries, and their teammates’ opposite reactions were extremely interesting:
A few thoughts on these very different reactions:
- Do the Commanders hate Jayden Daniels?
- Sure seems like the Commanders hate Jayden Daniels.
- Daniels is basically crawling for a moment there, and a couple of his teammates damn near step over him AI-Ty Lue style.
- Marcus Mariota runs out there to check on him. That’s good.
- But the rest of the offensive line just keeps it moving.
- They glance over at him a little. That’s about it.
- A curious quick glance, like they don’t know what that is on the ground.
- Like they’re eyeing an unknown object on the shoulder of 95 as they speed by.
- Like a torn-up tire.
- Or a plastic hunk of bumper.
On the flip side, look how upset the whole Giants team is:
- Helmets are off.
- Heads cast down in a somber way.
- Pretty much everyone’s on one knee.
- Even guys who aren’t suited up took a knee:
- For all we know that guy is a trainer.
- Maybe a cameraman.
- And even he’s taking a knee.
- From this clip it feels like the entire stadium might have taken a knee.
- Feels like if the video went a little longer, we would’ve seen the Our Father text appear on the jumbotron and the whole building join hands in prayer.
- There was no Our Father on the jumbotron for Jayden.
- If that jumbotron was about to play anything, feels like it would’ve been a helmet shuffle, fully indifferent to Washington’s QB1 writhing on the ground.
- Or the “make some noise” volume meter to get some cheers going.
- Drown out the sound of Jayden’s shrieks.
- In short, seems like everyone on the Giants really loves Jaxson Dart.
- Unlike the way the Commanders feel about Jayden.
- Also, pretty interesting that two NFC East quarterbacks are already injured.
- Remember when Drew Brees got mad that Jalen Hurts didn’t lay out for a first down the other day?
- Awful take there, Drew.
- Glad your opinion does not matter.
- Glad you’re not Jalen’s boss.
- Glad we haven’t had to throw the Our Father up on the jumbotron for Jalen.
- Taking a knee right now in front of my laptop and praying that we never have to.
