Jalen Hurts’ Mom Takes to TikTok to Announce That Her Quarterback is More Clutch Than Your Quarterback

Jalen Hurts’ mom is being pretty funny. She went on TikTok and put on an interesting face filter that made her blue-eyed and very smooth to announce that “my quarterback is more clutch than your quarterback” –
This is good stuff. There’s a ton to like here. I already mentioned the face filter. That’s gotta be the best thing the video has going. The lone purple balloon behind her is pretty good too:
I like the idea of this single purple balloon being there to celebrate how clutch Jalen’s been. Hope she bought the purple balloon and brought it to school for the occasion. Or maybe she saw it in a hallway and took it, then placed it behind her for the video to add a jubilant feel. That’s a nice thought. Someone else in the school looking for their purple balloon. Wondering what happened to it. Blaming a kid.
Anyway, overall, I’m extremely pro this video. Pamela Hurts seems like a good mom who’s very proud of her son, and she should be — he’s been playing well, and she’s right about him being clutch. Through the first two weeks of the season, Jalen is 10-of-14 (71.4%) for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns with 5 rushes for 26 yards in fourth-quarter, one-score situations (score margin within 8 points), including a game-winning touchdown drive in the final two minutes against the Titans. That’s not just good; his late-game play has been some of the best among all QBs.
So far this season, only two quarterbacks have been more productive in crunch time (final 5 minutes of the 4th quarter and OT in one-score games). Tyler Shough has been the best, going 16-of-22 (72.7%) for 223 yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown with zero interceptions, followed by Josh Allen (4-of-5, 82 yards, 1 TD). Then there’s Jalen Hurts, who’s 6-of-8 for 61 yards and 1 game-winning touchdown.
Enjoy the well-earned victory lap, Jalen’s mom. He’s been good. This is good. And feel free to make more of these kinds of bragging-mom videos. This was both wholesome and kind of funny, two of the best things a video can be.
