Phillies Announce Official NL Wild Card Roster

The Phillies announced their roster for the National League Wild Card series vs. the Atlanta Braves.

The biggest note, as we covered Monday, is Luis Arraez being sidelined with an ankle injury. The Phillies had hoped for Arraez to make progress since Thursday, but the second baseman did not get to the point where he was worth putting on the roster. The expectation, if the Phillies advance, is for Arraez to hopefully return in the NLDS. For now, Otto Kemp will take his place on the roster. Kemp has not played in a major league game since May 20th.
Jonathan Bowlan is back on the Phillies roster after being sidelined with a groin issue since September 17th. The biggest note is Brooks Raley, who was left off. Raley, along with Arraez and Caleb Killian, are all excluded, meaning all three trade deadline acquisitions did not make the Wild Card roster.
Game 1 is today at 2:00 PM, with Jesus Luzardo going up against Chris Sale at Truist Park.
