Pathetic Braves Fans Should Be Able to Fill Their Stadium for a Playoff Game Whether it’s 2 P.M. or 2 A.M.

Admittedly, this story would hit better if the Phillies held on to win Game 1 in Cobb County, but it’s so pathetic how Braves fans can’t fill up their stadium for a playoff game:
Tons of empty seats at first pitch. That’s the first photo. Then the second photo was after the Phils went up 1-0 and they showed an aerial shot featuring a half-empty third base/left field line. The game had all the excitement of a random Sunday afternoon in July.
Now, we go to the department of “more than one thing can be true” –
- The 2 p.m. start time sucks. MLB sucks.
- Phillies fans would have filled Citizens Bank Park if the game was at two in the afternoon or two in the morning. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – doesn’t matter. 45,000 people would be in that ballpark if it was snowing sideways and there was a 10-car pileup on the Schuylkill. You know it and I know it.
Truist Park caps around 41,000. It’s right in the middle of Major League Ballparks when listed by capacity. The Atlanta Metropolitan Area contains 6.4 million people, and they couldn’t get 41,000 people into the ballpark for a playoff game. A playoff game!
“But the Atlanta Metro Area is too large, that’s not a good indicator,” you say. “The Braves have a large regional fan base that goes in Alabama and Mississippi and blah blah.”
Okay, let’s slim it down. Let’s just use Cobb County, Fulton County, Dekalb County, and Gwinnett County. That’s more than 3.5 million people! You’re telling me you can’t fill up that stadium for a team that went 94-68 and won the division? The Braves are the best team in that goofy-ass transplant city, and by “city” I mean a really large collection of suburbs. The Braves have played high level baseball for decades now and they’re rewarded with a stadium that isn’t even full for a Wild Card game against a division rival.
You’re pathetic. That team deserves better fan support from you bums. And what’s even more pitiful is that the Phillies had these guys up against the wall in Game 1 and they LET ‘EM OFF THE HOOK.
If you wanna crown the Braves and their sad fan base, then crown their ass.
