Down comes the Phillies daycare mural on the side of Garage Fishtown:

I’m hearing that this will be replaced with a LeBron James mural. Jimmy used the basketball emoji as part of his tweet. A little hint. I’ll “effort” a second and third source though to see if I can confirm. If I am wrong, I will self-flagellate to the tune of 50 lashes and then put myself in the stocks for 24 hours. Not Stock’s Bakery on Lehigh Avenue, but the medieval thing where your head and arms stick out of the holes.

Anyway –

The daycare mural went up in 2024, before the NLDS. It replaced the previous image of Matisse Thybulle, which was painted in 2021 as part of a Sixers and Red Bull combo thing.

This seems like a natural point for flipping the mural. The Phils went out with a whimper, again. Alec Bohm probably won’t be back. We turn the page on that and move on to the next thing.
