PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 15, 2026) – NBC Sports Philadelphia has named Tom Haberstroh sideline reporter for its live coverage of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers. The Emmy Award-winning NBA reporter and analyst will report during the 76ers’ final preseason game on Friday, Oct. 16, before making his official debut on NBC Sports Philadelphia’s first regular-season telecast on Oct. 24, when the 76ers host the Milwaukee Bucks.
NBC Sports Philadelphia host and reporter Amy Fadool will also serve as sideline reporter for select games in addition to leading the live gameday shows Sixers Pregame Live and Sixers Postgame Live.
“Tom brings a rare combination of deep NBA knowledge, sharp analysis and an ability to connect the numbers to the stories that matter most to fans,” said Alexandra Matcham, vice president of content for NBC Sports Philadelphia. “We’re excited to welcome him back to NBC Sports Philadelphia and add his distinctive voice to our 76ers coverage.”
Haberstroh has covered the NBA since 2010 for national and regional media. He joins NBC Sports Philadelphia after three seasons on the Portland Trail Blazers TV broadcasts as the Analytics Insider, earning a regional Emmy Award in 2024. He also regularly contributes data-driven articles, podcasts and shows for Yahoo Sports.
From 2018 to 2020, he served as the national NBA reporter for NBC Sports Regional Networks, when he provided insights and analysis for several networks, including NBC Sports Philadelphia. He began his NBA media career in 2010 covering the Miami Heat for ESPN, where he later became a contributor to SportsCenter and other NBA shows for nearly a decade.
Beyond his NBA work, Haberstroh has built a significant presence in podcasting. He is a co-founder of the Count The Dings podcast network and has co-hosted Pack Your Knives, a podcast devoted to Top Chef.
He has also been recognized for his philanthropic work as an ALS advocate. In 2017, he launched the #ALSPepperChallenge in honor of his late mother, an initiative that has raised about $1 million for ALS research. He continues that advocacy through Hoops4ALS, his basketball-focused ALS organization, which raises awareness and funds for ALS initiatives.
NBCSP hasn’t had a Sixers sideline person since Taryn Hatcher, right? They previously had Serena Winters and Molly Sullivan and Leila Rahimi but recently they haven’t used anybody at all.
Now here comes LeBron to jumpstart everything Sixers and the sideline role is brought back from the dead. Incredible! What can’t LeBron James do?
(Haberstroh is pretty good, I think? He used to be in town every so often with that NBC regional job, right around the time the Sixers got good after the Process ended.)
