Hurts update:

“Bilateral pulmonary emboli” means there are blood clots in his lungs. Adam Schefter says he’s done for the season. Ian Rapoport confirmed, adding this:

#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs. Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played the game without having slept. Crazy.

Didn’t sleep because sleep was a risk. Incredible. He went 21-40 for 220 yards and a touchdown in that game, a game the Eagles should have won even without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith and Tank Bigsby and a number of key players. Can’t question QB1’s toughness.

Get ready for the Eagles to be torn apart for the series of decisions that led to Jalen Hurts playing in that game and then getting on a plane to fly back to Philadelphia. Sounds like it was a uniquely challenging situation. I suspect the heightened level of transparency here, and detailed statement(s), is part of an effort to squash the “Eagles were reckless” narrative, which will likely pop up anyway. But this level of detail is good to have.

Bottom line though, they’ve got this thing identified and a treatment plan is in place and it sounds like a somewhat linear recovery so long as Jalen’s off the football field.

It’s looking like a lost Eagles season.
