Knowing what we now know about the severity of Jalen Hurts’ blood clot situation, this Michael Robinson opinion from last week has skyrocketed up the rankings of The Worst Takes Ever Uttered:

“It looked like they was kind of pinning this season on Jalen Hurts. Now this is just me looking — outside looking in. I don’t know nothing, guys. But it looked like they were trying to pin the outcome of this season on a Jalen Hurts just so they can have an excuse later on to move on from Jalen Hurts. And again: I’m not saying I know nothing, guys. But if I’m just playing devil’s advocate here and I’m thinking that way, if I’m Jalen Hurts or anyone else in Jalen Hurts’ camp, I’m saying, ‘Well, if everybody’s hurt, I’m hurt too.’ Guys, I’ve been cleated before. And I’m not saying a superficial blood clot isn’t serious. I’m not saying that. But I would advise all of our viewers to go Google ‘superficial blood clot’ as opposed to a real blood clot. And again, I’m not a medical guy. But I’m just saying, to me, to me, it looked like Jalen is kind of getting himself out of the fray, so that this lost season… he’s pulling himself out so this doesn’t look like it’s on me. Now, again guys, I don’t know nothing… I’m just saying, they put in the statement ‘superficial blood clot.’ Look it up! What is it?”

Absolutely brutal. So, so funny. Everything he said couldn’t have been more wrong, and he delivered his monologue with so much confidence. You can see it in his face, hear it in his voice, sense it from the way he’s waving his pen-holding hand around: Not only does Robinson think he’s 100% correct on this, but he believes he’s the only one brave enough to say it. He knows it’s too dangerous for everyone else in the media. Others may be thinking it, sure, but only Robinson and Robinson alone has the conviction to stand up and proudly announce that Jalen Hurts is a faker. He is taking a noble stand… He is putting it all on the line…

When really, he was serving up one of the dumber things ever said on TV. It’s awesome.

And while the whole clip is extraordinary, there are two parts that, to me, stand above the rest:

1) “I don’t know nothing, guys.”

Such a funny line. He says this so many times. Michael, rest assured, we know that. It is abundantly clear that you, in fact, do not know nothing.

2) Michael’s profound misunderstanding about what a superficial blood clot is

This truth rears its head throughout his rant:

  • “Guys, I’ve been cleated before.” He seems to think Jalen’s blood clot is the same as the times he was cleated.
  • “I would advise all of our viewers to go Google ‘superficial blood clot’ as opposed to a real blood clot.” Michael doesn’t think superficial blood clots are “real blood clots,” and incorrectly believes Google will back him up on this.
  • I’m just saying, they put in the statement ‘superficial blood clot.’ Look it up! What is it?” Ending the segment with “What is it?” is so perfect. He just delivered a minute-plus speech on how Jalen’s injury is fake, then he concludes with a question that’s basically asking, “What have I been talking about this whole time? I don’t know what I’ve been talking about. I’ve never heard of this before. I haven’t been paying attention to what I’ve been saying. I’m just winging it on TV. That’s my job, is to wing it on TV… I don’t know nothing, guys.”
