Paul Bissonette Wants Social Media Accounts like Flyers Nation and Tony Escargot to Kiss His Ass

Biz (doing a bit and speaking as if he is Rick Tocchet): Flyers fans that are in Paul Bissonette’s mentions want to actually come and meet him in person. Let him know. Because like you said, Yands (Keith Yandle), there’s a lot of posititivity (sic) in the building, but Flyers fan accounts like Flyers Nation, Tony Escargot – these people don’t show up to the rink. They don’t handle anything face to face. They just want to live on the internet and bitch and moan and be fucking miserable, so kiss my ass.”
Ryan Whitney (with hoagie mouth Boston accent) – “You’ve been going with that Escargot guy for a couple of years now I feel like.”
Biz – “He’s still DM-ing me, he’s still sending shit to my house.”
First off, Biz said the word “posititivity” during this rant. Do we think that’s a slip? It’s plausible that he thinks it’s a real word.
But context is king, and the reason “Flyers fan accounts” are up these guys’ asses is because they threw some ragebait on the timeline the other day, asking if Matvei Michkov was worth a first round pick. Biz joked about sending Michkov to Anaheim to play with Cutter Gauthier, so naturally there were Flyers fans in the mentions blowing them up.
The thing about the Chiclets vs. Flyers fans thing, is that it transcends typical internet trolling and ragebait because Flyers fans think that this podcast carries water for Rick Tocchet. Fact check: true! They are unabashed Tocchet apologists. They consistently go to bat for TOCC while telling Flyers fans how fortunate they are to have the greatest hockey coach of all time. Every Flyers fan is a moron and should appreciate what we have.
Biz said this earlier in the podcast, before getting to the part in the video clip above:
“I’ve got something to say to all these fucking Flyers fan on behalf of Rick Tocchet (trolling). And I haven’t even talked to him so far this year. These are the most miserable fucking people on the planet. I got more mentions from Flyers fans than all the other fanbases combined. What the fuck have you guys won in the last 40 or 50 years?… You want to know what’s on the winning pedigree for Rick Tocchet? He’s got a Stanley Cup as a player with the Pittsburgh Penguins, because he had to go to Pittsburgh to finally win one, because you guys are losers. Then he won two Stanley Cups with the Penguins as an assistant coach. He’s got fucking World Cup of Hockeys (sic). He’s done it all. And you guys are a bunch of losers and hating on him nonstop.”
Biz did call out Flyers fans who had the opportunity to do something at the season opener, when he was at Stateside Live!. I begrudgingly agree with him on that.
There wasn’t nearly enough vitriol. Not enough booing. Someone should have dumped a bucket of crab fries on his head. It was tame. Flyers fans of 30 years ago would have tried to fight Biz at the TNT desk and they would have shoved aside Wayne Gretzky to get to him.
But if we have to choose between the Spittin’ Chiclets crew and miserable Flyers fans/social media accounts, you have to side with the latter every time. Biz makes some good points about the roster, and is a natural counterbalance to the accounts that go a little too far into Negadelphia, but his IQ can’t be any higher than 50.
