Our friends at BetMGM send out sportsbooks insights and this email flew out of my inbox and smacked me right across the face:

BetMGM Sportsbook Insights: NFL Win Totals

Most bet UNDERs since October (money)

  2. Chargers
  3. Titans

The Eagles have the #1 most bet unders in both tickets and moneyline this month. They also have the third most tickets on the over and second most money on the over. That’s wild and kind of sad at the same time. It shows just how volatile things have been with this team over the last four weeks. The Birds started the month 2-1, lost a laugher to the Rams at home, and then went to London to pick up another L. Jalen Hurts was diagnosed with the blood clot problem and ruled out for the year. They really went from one end of the spectrum to the other in a short amount of time.

Added context:

The Birds opened with a win total of 10.5, which they’re not going to reach. They’d have to win 9 of 10 down the stretch to finish 11-6 and clear, so congrats, if you had the under back on September 12th, you’re cashing.

Now the number is 5.5, as of October 28th. It’s been dropping throughout the month, resulting in a high level of in-season volume. You can see the dip here on this Kalshi graph, when it dropped from 9 wins to 6.5 wins after the Hurts news dropped on October 19th:

After the way the Eagles have played these last two weeks, it’s hard to see them reaching 3 or 4 wins, let alone six. Washington is terrible, and it’s conceivable the Birds beat them for a second time this season. Arizona, Houston, and Indy are all 2-5 right now. The Giants are 4-2-1 and nobody really truly knows if they’re a decent team or just the best team in a horrendous NFC East.

If you believe that DeVonta Smith and Saquon Barkley will be back healthy at some point, over 5.5 might cash, so grab a BetMGM bonus code. On the other hand, has Tanner McKee shown anybody anything these last couple of weeks? Not really. It could be one of those things where you go for a Borgata casino bonus code and ignore the Eagles entirely, or put on Merrill and Mike in the background. Maybe the Eagles are relegated to the small TV and we put the Sixers and even the Flyers on the big TV.
