Ben Revere Hits First Career Home Run as the Phillies Still Stink
By Kyle Scott
Published:
Hey, Ben Revere finally homered. He jerked one over the right field fence and then got the silent treatment when he returned to the dugout, a custom typically reserved for rookies and second-year players… because usually players get their first home run out of the way somewhere in their first 500 at-bats. But not Revere, who had gone 1,565 plate appearances without going yard. I’m surprised he didn’t run the bases backwards.
The Phils lost to the Rockies, 6-2.
Video after the jump.
Note how Tom McCarthy maintains YELL voice for a good 40 seconds, when most announcers would’ve returned back to Earth after Revere crossed the plate.
