The Phillies Pitched a Combined No-Hitter Today

And on September 1, the Phillies finally did something exciting.
Cole Hamels, Jake Diekman, Ken Giles and Jonathan Papelbon pitched the first combined no-hitter in Phillies history today. I’m not sure whether to be excited or mad that five months of terrible baseball caused me to miss this gem in favor of throwing a tennis ball and reading about #TheFappening on the beach.
Hamels was effectively wild, striking out seven and walking five, and Diekman, Giles and Papelbon were lights-out. Malvern Prep grad(!) Phil Gosselin made the final out.

In a 24-hour period, the Phillies have traded John Mayberry Jr. and pitched a no-hitter, and Jennifer Lawrence’s nudes were leaked all over the webs. The fall season is off to a strong start.
