Riley Cooper Gets Defensive, Blames Sanchez for Interception

Late in the game, with the score 24-14, Mark Sanchez threw a pass to Riley Cooper that was intercepted. By how badly the ball was intercepted, it seemed pretty obvious that either Sanchez threw the ball to the wrong spot or Riley Cooper ran the wrong route. Coop doesn’t think it was the latter though. Coop thinks it was just a terrible pass.
“Was it a miscommunication?” Cooper asked, rhetorically. “No. [Sanchez] knew the route. I knew the route. I ran the route. He threw the ball.”
As Eliot Shorr-Parks pointed out, Sanchez and Cooper don’t exactly have the best chemistry. They got into a shouting match on Thanksgiving, Cooper has yet to catch a touchdown from Sanchez, and has only totaled 133 yards over the last four games.
