When Kiko Alonso was first dealt from the Bills to the Eagles, the big question (other than “WHAT?”) was his injury history. In the last few years, Alonso has had two season-ending knee injuries, so the last thing Eagles fans want is for him to suffer a third. But maybe he’s in the clear, because it looks like he passed the injury onto his brother.

Carlos Alonso, brother of Kiko and infield prospect for the Phillies, is out for the year with a torn knee ligament. Carlos was taken out by a hard slide while trying to turn a double play for the Reading Fightins, and that was that. It’s a blow to Reading, where he was batting .262 with a .392 OBP this season, but hopefully that “everything happens in threes” thing puts Kiko in the clear.
