The Sixers Officially Commit to at Least One More Year of Joel Embiid

This news is far from unexpected, but the Sixers have officially picked up team options on Joel Embiid, Nerlens Noel, and Nik Stauskas. It’s Noel’s second team option, meaning he’ll be in for a new contract after the 2016-2017 season, and Sauce’s and Joel’s first. Stauskas and Embiid have one more option available for the 2017-2018 season. Barring any trades, that leaves next year’s Sixers lineup to feature Stauskas, Noel, Embiid, Okafor, whomever they pick with their 324 draft picks next year, and Dario the Friendly Ghost.
