Bryan Colangelo has broken the seal: The Sixers have signed guard Jerryd Bayless to a three-year deal worth $27 million. That’s a cheap contract in the new NBA.

The Sixers will be the 27-year-old Bayless’ seventh team in seven years. He’s a career 36.5% three-point shooter who hit on 43.7% of his 231 attempted threes last year in Milwaukee. He’s not exactly a hot name that you’ve heard bandied about, but he’s a solid contributor from the bench who will likely see starter minutes here.

I’d be shocked if Bayless is the last guard the Sixers acquire, and if he is, that’s a swing and miss. Still, he’s a nice add to a team that needs shooting more than anything else.
