UPDATE:  The Mets have suspended K-Rod for 2 games.

Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez roughed up his father-in-law last night.  Johan Santana ejaculated on a woman's leg and potentially fathered her child after an October assault on a golf course.  These are facts.

The Mets continued to be the bane of human existence on Wednesday, when Rodriguez was arrested following their 6-2 loss.  According to Deadspin, K-Rod was visibly upset in the bullpen after the Mets blew the lead in the 8th inning and he wasn't brought into the game.  Apparently, this spilled over into the clubhouse.  He cursed out a member of the media and then later allegedly hit his father-in-law, causing enough damage to send him to the hospital.

Rodriguez was arrested and charged with assault.  He has a history of incidents with teammates and media members.  The NY Daily News called his actions "abominable."

Indeed.

First Santana, now K-Rod.  All we need is a middle reliever to manslaughter a baby and we'll have a trifecta.

Thanks to readers Chris Foresta, Brian Wheat, and Derek Reed for bringing this to our attention late last night.
