Vick Co-Defendant Was Shot, Over Cake?

The ratio of people to cake was not acceptable
Uh oh.
According to the Daily Press. The man who was shot was Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant in the Vick dogfighting case and high-school teammate of Vick's. Did we mention Vick is not allowed to be associating with this man?
Here's where it gets weird. The shooting is rumored to be over a piece of cake. From the Daily Press:
Anyway, from here, things get vague, because some folks who were at
the party don't want it published that they were there. Some folks who
might have been witnesses to some of the incident don't want it to be
known if they were witnesses.
But the story goes that Quanis threatened to smash birthday cake in
Vick's face, or that he actually smashed the cake in Vick's face.
Another version is that someone smashed cake in Quanis' face — or
threatened to smash it in his face.
Anyway, the confrontation moved outside — where I'm told there were
several still cameras and video cameras.
Cooler heads did NOT prevail, and 'Q' was shot in the shopping center
parking lot.
Oh shit.
Could this really have been over cake?
Milton Waddams was not available for questioning.
It is also ironic/troubling that Allen Iverson was supposed to be in attendance.
