Phillies Extend Deals with Scott Franzke and WIP

While the Phillies are looking for long-term pieces this offseason, they won’t have to worry about doing the same on the broadcast side. The team has extended their partnership with both WIP and the best play-by-play radio man in the game (and former Philly Sports Media Field of 64 winner) Scott Franzke.
Franzke’s contract was picked up for five more years, which will bring his Phillies tenure to 16 years by the time it’s up. He’ll continue to broadcast with Larry Andersen and Jim Jackson as part of the extended deal with WIP, which also includes “Leading Off” and “The Final Out” pre-game and post-game shows.
When he's not writing about sports here or ranting about them on Twitter, Jim is probably watching X-Files on Netflix or drinking a beer somewhere. Jim has nothing against hockey, it's just not his style. He once met Duce Staley at a Sixers game.
