Lonzo Ball Is Going with the Scorched Earth Strategy with the Lakers

Lonzo Ball worked out with the Lakers today and spoke to the media afterwards. And just in case you were wondering how that whole D’Angelo Russell thing would go if the Lakers wind up with Ball… well, here’s a preview:

Lonzo on the Lakers: "They have a lot of good players. I just think they need a leader at point guard. I feel I can bring that to the team."

It’s easy to draw conclusions from one out-of-contextquote, but unintentional or not, this throws some massive shade at Russell, and this is before LaVar has even opened his big, fat mouth on the matter.

There’s been speculation lately that the Lakers could pass on Ball – which would be great for the Sixers – but if they do take him, I can’t imagine a scenario where D’Angelo Russell sticks around. And a part of me really, really worries he’s the LA guard who’s going to wind up on the Sixers when this is all said and done.
