While the Phillies actually won a game last night, everyone’s favorite crazy uncle Odubel Herrera began a rehab assignment with the Reading Fightin Phils and brought the bat flip with him.

Sticking with the Phillies, the lone bright spot is still Rhys Hoskins, who keeps writing his name into the record books.

I’m sure you weren’t watching the Eagles final preseason game last night, but Chris Jastrzembski did (unfortunately for him) and you should reward him by reading his observations from the contest.

The person in charge of Ezekiel Elliot’s investigation by the NFL recommended he not get suspended. He got suspended six games. Wait, what?

This morning, Zeke is suing the league to overturn his suspension:

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has filed a pre-emptive lawsuit challenging the appeal process arising from the six-game suspension imposed upon him by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The petition, a copy of which PFT has obtained, seeks a ruling from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas vacating the eventual ruling in the case, which would block the suspension to be imposed by the NFL, presuming that arbitrator Harold Henderson affirms all or part of the pending six-game banishment.

This will get fun.

Off the sports grid, support from all over has been pouring in for the Hurricane Harvey victims. Philly’s own Kevin Hart has raised over $1 million while J.J. Watt has gotten over $12 million. Every little bit helps.

Sidney Jones will reportedly start running next week. A lot of work left to do – especially for a cornerback – returning from a torn Achilles.
