Joel Embiid Will Not Play Tonight

In news that shouldn’t be surprising to anyone, Sixers center Joel Embiid will miss a second straight game.
“Just advice from the medical people that his back is still a little bit sore,” head coach Brett Brown said pregame. “They felt that it wouldn’t be wise for us to push him forward tonight. So we’ll follow their advice.”
It’ll be the same starting group of Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, Amir Johnson, JJ Redick, and Robert Covington for tonight’s game against Sacramento. Embiid missed last night’s loss in Chicago after playing all three overtime periods Friday night against Oklahoma City.
The Kings have lost two straight on an East Coast road swing. The Sixers are 14-15 and below .500 for the first time since Halloween.
