Report: Jay Ajayi is Done for the Season

Jay Ajayi clamored for more touches after receiving only eight carries during the Eagles’ 23-21 loss yesterday to the Vikings.
Doesn’t look like that is going to happen:
Roster Move: #Eagles have placed RB Jay Ajayi on Injured Reserve and claimed DT T.Y. McGill. pic.twitter.com/RkaHJAKnQr

At least T.Y. McGill was claimed, so we’re good there. With Ajayi now reportedly done for the season with a torn ACL, the Eagles’ already dicey backfield situation becomes an even greater concern.
Darren Sproles and Corey Clement are each battling multi-week injuries, leaving Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams as the team’s two healthy running backs. Suboptimal!
It’s unclear when exactly the injury occurred, but Ajayi had only one carry (it was negated by an illegal formation penalty) after his key third quarter red zone fumble.
Not great.
But what’s that I hear in the distance? A bell, perhaps? Why yes, yes it is. It tolls gloriously from the west—-Pittsburgh, I believe. And it sounds like…it sounds like hope.
