Schefter says the Birds sent Detroit a third round pick:

Hmm.. okay move I think. Tate is 30 years old and has 44 catches for 517 yards and three touchdowns this year.

Tate is excellent in the slot as a YAC type of guy, which I think overlaps with Nelson Agholor’s skill set. I wonder if they instead move Agholor to the outside in an effort to get him, Tate, and Alshon Jeffery on the field together. You’ve also got Zach Ertz who can move around and Dallas Goedert and Jordan Matthews, who had big games against Jacksonville.

The Eagles really needed a deep threat, but Tate is a receiver who can definitely pick up chunk yards. He’s on the final year of a five-year contract and you can see his season numbers after the jump:
