Michael Young: Still a Phillie!

Published:
It seems the Phillies find themselves in a bit of conundrum. To acquire Michael Young this past December, the team reportedly added a full no-trade clause to Young’s contract, meaning that unlike Cliff Lee, who has a list of eight teams that he can be traded to without approval, Young can say no to any trade. [Conflicting reports as to whether Young had a partial or full no-trade clause before December. Regardless, the Phillies extended that agreement. So now…] the only trade that Young will reportedly say yes to is one that would send him back to the Texas Rangers. Which is kind of ridiculous. It’s like Ruben Amaro built a shed from the inside and forgot to include a door.
Anyway, Michael Young– in the lineup tonight! Cody Asche, who has officially been called up, is not in the lineup.
