The Sixers’ National Anthem Singer Forgot the Words

Tough night for Delco native Audra McLaughlin, who sang the anthem before Wednesday’s game.
The 26-year-old country/soul singer gained national exposure when she appeared on season six of NBC’s The Voice. She’s performed probably a bazillion times in her life, including appearances at the Linc and Citizens Bank Park, but she forgot the words to the National Anthem while coming down the home stretch at the Wells Fargo Center:

I feel bad for her, but she had a pretty good response to the mishap, after the jump:
Hey Jordan… . I have to tell u. I’ve performed the national Anthem 1000 times in my entire life. That was the first time I’ve ever had a mishap. Sometimes shit happens and I have to say I was pretty upset about it. But I’m human and made a mistake.

Shit does happen, ya know? I appreciate a tough Delaware County woman.
For what it’s worth, she nailed it during the sound check:
Well .. soundcheck went well lol …. @sixers Thanks as always for the opportunity ❤️ Go Sixers!!!! pic.twitter.com/EZnejHIF5w
