The Patriots Have a Message for Lane Johnson

I had a feeling this was coming.
You may recall after last year’s Super Bowl that Lane Johnson had some critical comments for the New England Patriots:
On @PardonMyTake today, Eagles tackle Lane Johnson said he doesn’t think players like playing for the Patriots. Called them “a fear-based organization.” pic.twitter.com/0gAA7fEEdy

Johnson also didn’t seem overly impressed by the Patriots’ sixth Super Bowl win that came over the weekend:

Whatever the case, Patriots safeties Duron Harmon and Devin McCourty took some time during the team’s parade in Boston this afternoon to respond:
Looks like they are having fun Lane Johnson @LaneJohnson65 👀 pic.twitter.com/a9oqPpZ3PA

“Oh Lane Johnson, when you go to four Super Bowls in six years, that’s fun baby.”
My take? They have a point. Four Super Bowls in six years does seem pretty fun. Have to take this one on the chin.
People will talk about about how Johnson “lived rent free” in the Patriots’ heads all season, but fair is fair. I had no problem with Johnson talking all kinds of shit last year after the Eagles beat the Patriots, so I can’t be upset now. They got back and won it and the Eagles didn’t. Still, something tells me this isn’t the end of the back and forth, and while I would like to see Johnson respond, that’s not the right play here. A word of advice, Lane: stay hush, let the pettiness course through you, and use it as fuel to win next year’s Super Bowl. All retorts should be made henceforth at championship parades.
