Brandon Brooks Says Anxiety Issue Was Related to New Contract

Brandon Brooks explained on Monday that he came out of the Seahawks game due to a recurrence of the anxiety that hampered his 2016 season.

The Pro Bowl guard wrote a very honest letter addressing the issue and received widespread support for speaking publicly on his struggles with mental health. Today, he further added that Sunday’s issue specifically was related to the signing of his new contract:

Brandon Brooks has already overcome this problem once before, which saw him then go on to win a Super Bowl and earn two Pro Bowl nods. He then tore his Achilles and recovered from that in eight months, so I don’t think there’s much of a reason to question his ability to bounce back from anything at all, be it mental or physical.

He’s really easy to cheer for.
