Eagles Injury Update: Not Entirely Reassuring

Lane Johnson is still in concussion protocol as of 10:51 on Friday morning.

The positive thing, according to Doug Pederson, is that Andre Dillard has “looked good” at right tackle this week, as he prepares to possibly step in against Seattle.

“He’s really settled in and had a good day yesterday,” Pederson said at Friday’s press conference. “We expect the same today, so he’s trending in the right direction.”

“Trending” was the word of the day, according to the head ball coach, who also described Nelson Agholor and Alshon Jeffery as moving “in the right direction” with their respective injuries. Jeffery missed the New England game with a bum ankle while Agholor hurt his knee. They might just have to deal with the pain on Sunday.

Doug was also asked about Jordan Howard, who still is not cleared for contact after suffering a stinger in the Bears game:

“Until he is cleared for contact, and until I get more updates from our medical team, doctors, right now he is still day-to-day and working through the individual portion of the practice.”

Everybody responds differently, different injuries are different. I’m not gonna speculate on the length of the injury, but until I get further notice on this type of injury – I’m just getting what they tell me – we’re gonna protect the player and make sure he’s 100%.

Doug did note that Jay Ajayi had a good week of practice and that they “expect to play him a bit more possibly.”
