Eagles-Panthers Week 6 Live Thread

After a short week, the Eagles are back in action tonight in Charlotte to take on the Carolina Panthers, who are also riding a hot streak of their own.
On the injury front, Ronald Darby and Lane Johnson are out, while Beau Allen, Fletcher Cox, Chris Long, Wendell Smallwood, Destiny Vaeao, and Jaylen Watkins are questionable. Tracy Wolfson is reporting that Cox will play tonight. Chris Mortensen adds that Beau Allen will also be active.
For the Panthers, starting safety (and former Eagle) Kurt Coleman, starting center Ryan Kalil, and cornerback Demetrious Cox are all out.
We’ll continually update this post as the game goes along. And check out our predictions to see how good (or probably bad) we guessed this game.

11:45 – Eagles get a turnover on downs, and they’ll enter the long week at 5-1. 28-23 victors.
11:38 – Eagles go three-and-out in a chance to end the game. They punt, and Mack Hollins is now down.
11:34 – Well it took two more plays, but Jalen Mills did pick off Cam Newton. Wide open too.

11:32 – Rasul’s gotta catch that:

11:29 – Chris Maragos is out with a knee injury:
#Eagles injury update:
S Maragos (knee) will not return.— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) October 13, 2017
11:28 – Derek Barnett has his first half sack of his NFL career. Shared it with Justin Hamilton.
11:24 – We’re not the only ones angry:
Eagles execs in the press box think Alshon Jeffery was held on that third down. Panthers get ball back with 5:49 remaining.
— Zach Berman (@ZBerm) October 13, 2017
11:21 – The below statement is still true. Missed pass interference call on Alshon on third down. Carolina takes over. Chris Maragos is also hurt.
11:17 – Pete Morelli is a joke:

11:13 – But Newton finds McCaffery for the one-yard TD pass. Eagles lead 28-23 with 8:04 left.
11:13 – They didn’t get the touchdown.
11:11 – Cam Newton may or may not have scored. Officials are reviewing. He probably did because the refs will give the TD to him because he’s a Panther.
10:59 – Wentz finds Agholor 24 yards out for the score. Eagles lead 28-16 with 14:55 left.
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918672653795430400
10:55 – After three: The Eagles lead 21-16. Birds are driving.
10:49 – Brandon Graham is questionable to return with a shoulder injury:

10:48 – Graham Gano makes a 47-yard try with 3:23 to go. Eagles lead 21-16.
10:46 – Nigel Bradham is back in. Thank god.

10:41 – Luke Kuechly is done for the night with a concussion.
10:38 – Nigel Bradham makes another great play, but injures his shoulder. Walks off on his own, but hopefully it’s not that bad.
10:32 – The legend of Jake Elliott continues. Makes a 48-yard try with 8:08 left in the third. Eagles lead 21-13.
10:28 – Fozzy Whittaker is now out for the game.
10:27 – Pretty much:
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918664072119373824
10:24 – Nigel Bradham has been a tank tonight. Forces Carolina to kick a field goal. Eagles up 18-13 with 11:24 left in the 3rd.
10:21 – This could be a momentum swing for Carolina. Jalen Mills gets called for pass interference on a possible Rodney McLeod interception. He didn’t need to do anything:
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918662885345292289
Also, Luke Kuechly is being evaluated for a concussion.
10:16 – SIKE! Carolina gets called for an illegal formation on the PAT try, Doug wants to go for two during the TV timeout because nobody asked him, and LeGarrette Blount runs it in. Now 18-10.
10:15 – What a start for the Birds. Wentz finds Ertz 17 yards out for the 17-10 lead. 13:59 left in the third quarter.
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918661118138224641
10:10 – Big pick by Patrick Robinson give the Birds the ball deep in Carolina territory:
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918660687144071168
10:09 – Second half has begun. No Luke Kuechly for Carolina, but no Jordan Hicks for the Eagles. Hicks is done for the game:
#Eagles Injury Update:
LB Jordan Hicks (ankle) will not return.— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) October 13, 2017
10:00 – Halftime stats:
For the Eagles:
Carson Wentz: 8 of 15 for 92 yards, 1 TD, 3 carries for 24 yards, 1 fumble lost
LeGarrette Blount: 9 carries for 39 yards
Nelson Agholor: 2 catches for 31 yards

Kelvin Benjamin: 5 catches for 48 yards
Christian McCaffrey: 5 catches for 31 yards, 1 carry for -2 yards
Julius Peppers, Thomas Davis, and James Bradberry: 1 sack each
9:54 – A great stop by the Eagles defense in the two-minute drill keeps the game tied at 10. Carolina will get the ball to start the third quarter.
9:40 – Eagles tie it at 10 thanks to a Zach Ertz one-yard TD catch. 2:32 left in the half.
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918652906903101441
9:37 – Luke Kuechly is off to the locker room.
9:34 – Pressure by Fletcher Cox forces a tipped pass from Newton and intercepted by Rasul Douglas:
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918651066522177536
9:28 – Kenjon Barner’s having a very rough night. He might need to sit out some drives.

9:20 – Cam Newton runs 16 yards out for a Panthers touchdown. Carolina leads 10-3 with 10:34 left in the first half:
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918647783078420480
9:17 – Doug Pederson decides to call timeout on third down as the play clock went to zero, and then Wentz gets sacked by Thomas Davis. Eagles punt.

This also looked bad:

9:11 – A great stop by Jalen Mills on third down to force a Carolina punt:
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918645334682808324
Kenjon Barner muffs the punt, but Patrick Robinson recovers the ball.
9:06 – That’s the end of the first. We’re tied at 3.
9:05 – This officiating crew is trash:
First quarter penalties:
Eagles – 4 for 51 yards
Panthers – 0— Brandon Lee Gowton (@BrandonGowton) October 13, 2017
8:58 – Don’t run against the Eagles.
Kareem Hunt is the only player to rush for more than 35 yards against the Eagles this year.
35 YARDS
— Reuben Frank (@RoobNBCS) October 13, 2017
Seriously, don’t:
Panthers running backs: 4 carries, minus-8 yards.
Average: minus-two yards.
Long gain: 1 yard.
— Reuben Frank (@RoobNBCS) October 13, 2017
8:57 – Fozzy Whittaker has a right ankle injury. His return is questionable.
8:56 – Graham Gano ties the game with a 39-yard field goal. 2:17 left in the opening quarter.
8:52 – Carolina is driving, but Fozzy Whittaker is down for the Panthers. Nigel Bradham with a nice tackle for loss on the last play. He’s carted off the field.
8:43 – Jake Elliott nails a 50-yard field goal. A bad snap by Rick Lovato, but Donnie Jones does a great job with managing the hold. Eagles lead 3-0 with 7:02 to go in the first quarter.

8:35 – How long will Doug stick with Big V?
The guy to watch on the Eagles is the backup RT. He's going to be ok vs Charles Johnson. Peppers will be an issue
— Geoff Schwartz (@geoffschwartz) October 13, 2017
8:32 – Luckily, the Eagles force a three-and-out on the Panthers’ first drive.
8:30 – With the Eagles driving, Julius Peppers comes in and forces a fumble on Wentz. Carolina picks it up:
https://twitter.com/CFJastrzembski/status/918635472003485697
8:27 – Carolina won the toss, but deferred to the second half. Eagles begin at their own 25.
7:43 – Wouldn’t be shocked to see Darby back for Washington in two weeks:
Darby doesn't have a boot. Walking without issue. Even danced a bit.
— Zach Berman (@ZBerm) October 12, 2017

7:01 – Some weird stuff. CBS’s Tracy Wolfson said at the top of the hour that Fletcher Cox was out, but the Eagles have already confirmed he’s active:

6:55 – Injury report is officially out. Fletcher Cox and Beau Allen are active. Wendell Smallwood, Destiny Vaeao, and Jaylen Watkins are still out. Shelton Gibson and Elijah Qualls are healthy scratches, which means Justin Hamilton is active. Isaac Seumalo is also active after sitting out the past two games as a healthy scratch:
