Thank God we’ve got some Eagles news to get us through the first week of Coronavirus lockdown. Big V, Hassan Ridgeway, Corey Clement, and Javon Hargrave (more on him later today).

This piece of information isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but Nate Sudfeld will be returning to the Birds on a one-year deal:

I don’t have a Sudfeld take. I’m struggling to come up with one. If he hadn’t broken his wrist in the preseason, then Josh McCown is probably never signed out of retirement in the first place (unless Cody Kessler and Clayton Thorson would have been later cut and McCown added as a QB3 anyway). But when the playoffs began, Sudfeld was healthy and inactive while McCown was the #2 quarterback on the depth chart, so go figure.

I guess the Eagles still see upside in a 6’6″, 26 year old who doesn’t have a lot of in-game experience. Sudfeld has still only thrown 25 career passes, 23 of which took place in 2017 when he was playing in the meaningless Dallas loss.

Welcome back, Nate Studfeld
