Report: Walter Thurmond is Set to Retire
By Jim Adair
Published:

According to a report from Adam Schefter, Walter Thurmond III will retire. Thurmond had reportedly been mulling the decision for months, and “has told people close to him that he doesn’t want to play football any longer, he wants to pursue other opportunities, and his time in the league is up.”
Thurmond, 28, becomes just another young player who could still probably play in the NFL but chooses not to. Until he releases a statement on his own, we won’t know if future health played a part in his decision. The Sporting News reports that Thurmond may be focusing on his career producing and directing films. But following the trend, it’d be shocking if health wasn’t a big factor.
When he's not writing about sports here or ranting about them on Twitter, Jim is probably watching X-Files on Netflix or drinking a beer somewhere. Jim has nothing against hockey, it's just not his style. He once met Duce Staley at a Sixers game.
