Wis wit.

Get it? It’s a cheesesteak joke. “Wis wit,” because the Super Bowl-winning guard is once again with the Eagles…..

..

.

.

He reportedly signed a one-year deal worth $1.5 million:

Wis started in seven games last year, beginning the season at left guard before losing his job to Isaac Seumalo. The year prior, he won the gig after he was thrown into a strange platoon with Chance Warmack.

I’m kind of surprised that Wis is back, considering that he vocalized his disappointment with his benching last season, explaining that he felt like he “wasn’t playing bad” and had some “theories” as to why he was taken out of the starting lineup. One of those theories is that Jason Peters preferred to play next to Isaac Seumalo for technique reasons, but I honestly gotta go back through some game film and take a look at that.

Either way, the Eagles need guard depth behind Seumalo and Brandon Brooks, who is returning from injury. They have Matt Pryor and will cross-train other linemen, but Wis at age 30 makes too much sense.

I wrote a bit about Wisniewski a few months back, a post titled “Stefen Wisniewski Sad to be Leaving Eagles.
