Lenny Dykstra on Ben Revere:

“What’s his on-base percentage? .317. Really? You’re supposed to hit .317. And he’s leading off. And he’s an average outfielder. And he doesn’t have any power. And I don’t know if a lot of people are saying, ‘Hey hunny hurry man let’s go see Ben Revere play tonight.’”

He forgot to mention his weak-ass arm. [His .OBP is .302 now, too.]

The Phillies clawed their way back from a 5-0 deficit last night thanks to Cody Asche’s game-tying grand slam (I’m sure most of you missed it– I did). In the 10th, the Blue Jays took at 6-5 lead on a sacrifice fly hit to Revere, who would’ve had a reasonable chance of getting Melky Cabrera out at the plate if not for this throw:

Annnnnnd safe. Phillies lose, 6-5.

Side note: What’s with the announcers in suits this season?

Undoubtedly this is a Comcast decision. But… why? It’s totally overkill for a local baseball game and Tom McCarthly looks like a goddam funeral director. Don’t worry, grieving loved one, I’ll be with you evvvvvvvvvvveeeerrrrryyyyyy step of the way!
