Earlier this month, Matt Stairs was hired as the Phillies’ hitting coach. In October, it was announced John Kruk was leaving ESPN. So this is just the natural conclusion.

According to Jim Salisbury – and also Bazzaro Miyagi, I guess – Stairs’ seat in the Phillies broadcast booth will be filled by Kruk. “Details of the agreement with Kruk were not immediately known” Salisbury said. “It’s unclear how many games he will broadcast. Stairs and Davis basically split the 162-game schedule.”
When he's not writing about sports here or ranting about them on Twitter, Jim is probably watching X-Files on Netflix or drinking a beer somewhere. Jim has nothing against hockey, it's just not his style. He once met Duce Staley at a Sixers game.
