Lifelong Mets (and Cowboys) Fan Chris Christie Calls Out Chase Utley
By Jim Adair
Published:

Chris Christie is a lifelong Mets fan. Somewhere along the line he became a Cowboys fan, but he’s always been local with baseball, through and through. You can see him above showing off his lifelong Mets fandom. (“Yeah, yeah, he went to an A’s game once,” you say. I can’t find one picture of him wearing a Mets hat.)
So of course, Chris Christie had his opinion on what Chase Utley’s slide was all about, and he shared it on MSNBC this morning – or as MSNBC not-so slyly put it, he “weighed in” on it:
Chris Christie: “Huge Met fan, going all the way back to 1969 … ”
Joe Scarborough: “Is two days enough for Utley?”
Christie: “He’s a dog.”
Scarborough: “What a dog, seriously.”
Christie: “And he’s always been that way. He tackled the guy.”
That was it, because the conversation swayed back to politics, an arena where Christie has even less sway.
