Max Scherzer Broke His Nose Today

The headline pretty much says it all. Max Scherzer, who is currently scheduled to start for the Nationals in one game of Wednesday’s double-header against the Phillies, bunted a ball during pregame batting practice earlier today…and that ball hit him in the face. It looked bad:

I wouldn’t exactly call that textbook form. At first glance, it looked like he broke his nose. Turns out that he did.
Max Scherzer has a broken nose, the Nationals just announced. A CT scan came back negative. His status for tomorrow, and the team's overall pitching plan, is TBD.
