Well, hang the banner I guess.
I don’t know whether to be proud or sad about this. On one hand the Flyers and Sixers should be in the middle of a tank. I’ll give the Sixers a pass because they were in an epic tank off with the Wizards. The Flyers though have no business scoring EIGHT goals when we’re trying to get the best lottery pick possible. Since Torts was fired they’ve won four out of five. Somehow they still sit fifth worst in the lottery. On the other hand, this is pretty impressive that we haven’t had three major pro sports teams win on the road since 2003 when the Phillies beat the Marlins, the Flyers beat the Penguins, and the Sixers beat the Magic in OT. I can’t believe there hasn’t been more Sundays when the Eagles took care of the Giants in MetLife while the Sixers and Flyers took care of business. I guess when you think about it the Sixers and Flyers share a stadium. So when one is on the road the other is typically home (nice critical thinking there Copernicus). So maybe this isn’t as crazy as it seems. I’d love to know how many times three Philly teams have even played on the road on the same day in the history of Philadelphia. Are we batting 3/15 or 3/150? I mean there hasn’t been many chances the Phillies and Eagles are playing on the same day past September. Not when the Phils have only been to the playoffs 17 times in their illustrious 142 year history.
