The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board provided the latest numbers, highlighting their adjusted gaming revenue. That total removes promotional dollars from the gross revenue total. The adjusted revenue in April was $245.8 million.

The PGCB also lists their iGaming revenue by licensee. Online casino gaming launched in the state in 2019 with 10 different retail casinos being granted licenses to operate in the state. Two other operators (Bally, Golden Nugget) earned untethered licenses. Many of these licensees are affiliated with more than one online casino brand in Pennsylvania. However, their revenue is reported collectively.

Here’s a look at the gross gaming revenue numbers by licensee for last month.

Seven Consecutive Months over $300 Million

Pennsylvania iGaming continued its trend of surpassing $300 million in revenue, the seventh straight month it has done that.

The trend began in October when Pennsylvania became the first state to reach the milestone. Michigan online casinos have since also passed that mark in recent months.

Is Michigan Catching Up To Pennsylvania?

In US iGaming, Pennsylvania has been the leader in gross gaming revenue, well ahead of Michigan and New Jersey, it’s only close competition.

Last year, PA online casinos finished with $3.46 billion in revenue, while Michigan was the only other state to reach $3 billion, as it finished with $3.09 billion.

However, recent months have seen Michigan as close as its ever been to Pennsylvania in terms of monthly revenue. April marks the third time in five months it has been within $9 million of Pennsylvania.
