Dick Vitale has Vocal Cord Cancer

Well this is shitty:
This is an update on my meeting today with Dr ZEITELS. Though I was disappointed with the pathology report, I plan on winning this battle like I did vs Melanoma & Lymphoma ! pic.twitter.com/pu61XJSm43

“I have vocal cord cancer and I will need 6 weeks of radiation to treat it.”
That’s brutal. Vitale is 84 years old and still going strong with ESPN’s college basketball coverage. You might recall he was diagnosed with lymphoma a couple of years ago following a melanoma bout that required several rounds of surgery. In August of 2022, he announced he was cancer-free, only to circle back with news of this setback about a year later.
Good to hear, however, that this has an “extremely high cure rate,” as Dickie V notes in the tweet. He’s a PTP-err. He’ll be back and it’ll be awesome baby.
