Eagles-Giants Week 15 Live Thread

The Eagles are on the road again this week, but this time back on the east coast. This is the first contest for the birds without darling quarterback Carson Wentz. Nick Foles steps into the starter’s spot and the team did not bring in another quarterback this week so Nate Sudfeld is the backup.
Philly comes in at 11-2 and the Giants are 2-11.
The Eagles can clinch the #1 seed in the NFC today or at the very least clinch at least the second seed:
Philadelphia Eagles clinch home-field advantage with:
a win over the Giants AND a Vikings loss to the BengalsPhiladelphia Eagles clinch a first-round bye with:
a win over the Giants OR
a tie against the Giants AND a Rams loss/tie against the Seahawks AND a Saints loss/tie against the Jets AND a Panthers loss/tie against the Packers

4:27pm: That’ll do it. Eagles hold on for the win, a 34-29 triumph over the Giants. The Vikings thrashed the Bengals, so the Eagles don’t get the top seed. However, the win over New York nets the birds a first-round bye in the playoffs.
4:24pm: STOPPED! On fourth and goal for the Giants, the Eagles don’t let them score. New York turns the ball over on downs.
4:14pm:
Two-minute warning: Eagles clinging to a 34-29 lead. Giants driving, in Eagles territory. Ronald Darby is trash. Get to a TV, if you can.
4:05pm:
Eagles drive down the field after the blocked point, but failed to score a touchdown. Philly settles for a 20-yard field goal as Doug Pederson passes up on a fourth and goal opportunity from at New York’s 2-yard line. Birds lead 34-29 with 3:59 left in regulation.

3:41pm:
End of the 3rd quarter: Eagles 31 Giants 29. That’s good. This is bad:
The Eagles defense has given up nearly as many points in its last 11 quarters (88) than it did in the previous 23 quarters (89).

1:59pm:
The defense made a stop! The Giants punt for the first time of the day. Eagles take over with decent field position midway through the 2nd quarter.
1:47pm:
Giants connect on a 67-yard catch and run for another touchdown. Broken tackles, broken hearts. NY leads 20-7 after this:

1:38pm:
Agholor is back on the field, makes another catch to start the birds’ second drive.
1:34pm:
Another Giants drive, another touchdown. This one as Jalen Mills got torched on a fade in the endzone. NY up 13-7. Time to panic about this defense?
1:25pm:
In response, the Eagles go right down the field, aided by a pass interference call. Foles found Jeffery on the backline of the endzone. Eagles up 7-6. 5:28 left in opening quarter. Foles was good on the drive:

1:17pm:
Foles’ first throw is a completion to Alshon Jeffery for a first down. Super Bowl.
1:15pm:
Welp, that wasn’t pretty. The Giants dink and dunk their way down the field on the opening drive of the game. The Eagles get a stop on 3rd and goal, but a holding call on Jalen Mills gives new life. New York runs it in few players later. Philly blocks PAT. 6-0 Giants.
1:10pm:

Tyler Trumbauer is a young Philly sports junkie who didn’t believe in the Process, but now is grateful that Sam Hinkie died for his sins. He’s aptly described as a guy with a little talent, a lot of luck, and great timing.
