A.J. Brown Reportedly Drawing “Significant Interest from Several Teams” as Trade Chatter Picks Up
There are a bunch of A.J. Brown reports about there, but we’ll begrudgingly go to Mets fan Ian Rapoport since he’s always dialed in and on top of this stuff:
“I think it’s fair to say that his future in Philadelphia is pretty up in the air, he has drawn significant interest from several teams, including the Rams, who traded for Trent McDuffie, traded a first rounder for him, so that would probably make them out on that, including the Buffalo Bills, who then traded for D.J. Moore. There’s still several teams interested that A.J. Brown would want to go to, the New England Patriots are one of them. We know the relationship between Mike Vrabel and A.J. Brown, we know that Brown had some of his best seasons with Vrabel (in Tennessee), we know Vrabel has been asked about it (at the Combine) and he talked about how great a player A.J. Brown is. It’s really just a matter of, for Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, finding the right number for this deal, finding the right set of draft picks. We’ve seen receivers, Davante Adams comes to mind, traded for a 1 and a 2. These are hefty, hefty prices, so at this point, whatever you can get is sort of what the price is. But if the Eagles trade A.J. Brown it’s going to be (for) a lot and I certainly believe the Patriots are in the mix.”
So that’s Rap Sheet’s latest.
Diana Russini tweeted earlier that “the Eagles and teams involved in A.J. Brown trade discussions want the situation resolved in the next couple of days so they can move on to the rest of their offseason planning and identify other players on their wishlists.”
Josina Anderson reported that the Birds floated, to the Patriots, an asking price of a 1st, a 2nd, and a player in return, which would be some diabolical Howie stuff. A.J. is worth a first rounder, but he’s not worth THAT much, unless it’s a low 1st, low 2nd, maybe future on one or both picks, and then the player is a bum.
Either way, there’s been a lot of recent chatter. It’s uncomfortable.
Now, let’s get it back to the Flyers.
