Aggravating: Jalen Reagor Goes on Injured Reserve

Wouldn’t be Philadelphia sports without a first round draft pick missing significant time via injury.
Jalen Reagor is headed to IR following surgery to repair a torn thumb ligament:

This means he’s out for three more weeks at the very least, so the earliest he can return is the week seven Giants game. He’ll be unavailable for San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore. John Clark anda Dallas-based reporter (Reagor went to TCU) reported that he’d be out until the bye week, which is week nine, meaning he’d also miss the New York and Dallas games, if those reports are true.
Reagor had five receptions for 96 yards this season before going on the shelf. Obviously his injury makes any sort of early evaluation not applicable, but here’s a look at how the other first-round rookie receivers are doing, just for shits and giggles:
- Henry Ruggs (12th pick): 4 catches, 49 yards, 14.8 YPC
- Jerry Jeudy (15th pick): 13 catches, 173 yards, 13.3 YPC
- CeeDee Lamb (17th pick): 16 catches, 230 yards, 14.4 YPC
- Justin Jefferson (22nd pick): 12 catches, 245 yards, one touchdown, 20.4 YPC
- Brandon Aiyuk (25th pick): 7 catches, 91 yards, 13.0 YPC
Ironically, those five, plus Reagor, only have one combined touchdown this year. Second round picks Tee Higgins and Laviska Shenault have three. Go figure.
