Pro Football Reference released their “Most Viewed Team & Player Pages Across All Sports” and someone alert Cowboys fans that the Eagles are now America’s Team:

The funny thing is Philly fans are going to hate this. Philly fans love to be the main character, but they hate the praise. It’s a city that loves the underdog mentality because they grew up rooting for dogshit teams all their lives and have always struggled being the favorite. We’re seeing it play out in the media this year. The takes coming out locally and nationally are driving fans of loser teams like the Jets, Bills, and Commanders nuts. Maybe my generation will carry the torch because Eagles success is all I’ve known since birth. I saw a Super Bowl appearance and four NFC Championship games before 5th grade. My father and his buddies saw one in 37 years. Now we’ve got two Lombardis in six years and you’d think we’re on our way to a 30-year drought. It’s fine to have high expectations for a team, but it’s bat shit to think this can’t be turned around in a year after we saw that exact scenario play out in 2024. Fuck that. This fanbase would be a lot better if we embraced being successful. This city would be a lot better if we embraced being one of the best in the country. The evidence backs it up. Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, and Cooper DeJean are in the top-10 of jersey sales for 2025, countless series like Task and Universal Basic Guys were created around the Philly accent, celebrities are coming out of the woodwork to become Eagles fans right before our eyes, and phrases like “Go Birds, Dickhead!” are sweeping the nation. Philadelphia is one of the hottest cities in America right now and it’s in large part due to the success of the Philadelphia Eagles. Now we have even more evidence. And it’s not just America, we dominate Canada too. How do you say Go Birds in French Canadian?
