Possibly the biggest story out of training camp today?

Bill Belichick the cheater, speaking with Zach and Julie Ertz while eating Rita’s Water Ice:

Belichick is joking, but this has to be breaking some kind of rule. Please NFL, step in and discipline this man. Throw in some retroactive punishment for the various “gates” as well. Deflategate and Spygate.

(The Patriots went out and got Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith this offseason, so they don’t need a tight end anyway. Maybe they called on Howie Roseman, but New England was not one of the teams that was originally linked to Ertz a few months ago, when those rumors were popping up.)

Honestly, it probably makes the most sense to keep Ertz on the team for now anyway. See how he does, give him a veteran security blanket for Jalen Hurts, and then if his value goes up, flip him for a draft pick and let him continue his career elsewhere. He’s given his entire career to Philly and deserves a shot to finish it elsewhere, maybe in Cali, where he’s from.
